Fairgoers at the Nebraska State Fair on Sunday got a chance to travel the world without leaving Fonner Park.
Thirty Fulbright scholars representing 20 countries set up “From Around the World to Nebraska,” an interactive cultural experience featuring music, displays and activities meant to highlight the “treasures” of their home countries. Starting at 10 a.m., the Fonner Park concourse filled with flags, games, clothing and other items from Mexico, Tajikistan, Pakistan, India, Cambodia, Spain, Japan and many other countries.
Parviz Jamalov with the UNL Fulbright Association said the scholars put significant time into preparing their booths.
