Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement (SLICE) wants you to be involved in campus life at The University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Finding ways to be engaged on campus and building lasting relationships is something we are passionate about and think are essential to the Husker experience, so here are a few ways you can begin to do that.
Begin by learning about SLICE and how to download your Event Pass for easy entrance into events throughout your time at UNL by watching this short video.
Then we want you to SHOW UP! There are events, programs, club meetings, speakers, athletic events, intramurals, and service opportunities happening every single day on campus.
- For the month of January, follow the Big Red It’s Go Time! calendar to kick off the Spring semester. You can also check out the University Events Calendar for the rest of the year.
- Any event sponsored by Recognized Student Organization (RSOs) can be found on the NvolveU Events Calendar!
- Campus Recreation has an amazing website full of information regarding Outdoor Adventures, Intramurals, Sport Clubs, and group fitness classes.
- If community service is your interest area, check out all the opportunities here.
Next step is to SIGN UP! Look into joining two of our over 450 Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) including Sports Clubs and fraternities and sororities.
- Sign in to NvolveU (top right corner with your MyRed credentials) to search all the organizations or clubs.
- Go to the top left and click on the 3 lines and click on Orgs.
- Under Categories, select any box which looks interesting, and all the clubs within that category will pop up.
- Select an RSO that looks intriguing, and you will be able to see their description and be able to reach out to their primary contact if you have questions. You will also see any of their upcoming meetings or events.
- You can also search by keyword. What have you been involved with in the past? What are you interested in? What are your hobbies? Where it says Search Organizations with the magnifying glass, type in a word, for example film, and a list of RSOs will pop up. Try an assortment of words such as cinema to get different RSOs to appear. Continue with a variety of terms to see the clubs we have on campus.
- Put the 2026 Spring Nvolvement Fair on your calendar. Thursday, January 29, 2026, 4:00-6:30pm in the Nebraska Union Centennial Room. Come chat with nearly 100 RSOs who are looking for new members.
Your Husker experience matters to us. If you have any questions or want to meet with us in person, you can stop by and visit our team at the Nebraska Union Suite 200 anytime between 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
