LGBTQA+ History Month is observed annually in October to recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Asexual community and those who support, nurture, and advocate for us. The Director of the Center developed and updates (as she is able) a UNL and Lincoln history timeline. If you have historical information related to the LGBTQA+ Community at UNL, please email lgbtqa@unl.edu.

2018 History Month Activities

The 16th Annual LGBTQA+ History Month Dinner will take place at The Cornhusker Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom, 333 South 13 th Street, Lincoln, NE on Thursday, October 25, 2018.

There will be a pre-dinner social from 5 - 6:15 pm, during which time there will be a cash bar and a light snack. Doors to the ballroom will open at 6 pm, and the program begins at 6:30 pm. 

Raffle Tickets will be sold prior to the start of the program and prior to the drawings.

We will recognize the recipients of the 6th Annual Be-ing the Change Award.

Our keynote speaker will be Jose Villarrubia, Artist, and Chair at the Maryland Institute College of Art, speaking on the history of gay comics.

We are pleased that the River City Mixed Chorus will also perform for us again this year and Vince Learned will provide piano music before the program starts.

Parking: There is some on street (metered) parking (plug until 6 pm) and a parking garage on the west side of the hotel.

Everyone purchasing a half table or full table will be included in the program. To ensure inclusion in the program, please purchase tables by October 1st.
Program Ads must be received by October 1st.
Please submit Scholarship Requests by October 8th.  

Individual tickets may be purchased in the Student Organization Financial Services Office (SOFS). The SOFS office is located in Nebraska Union 200. You can contact Jeff Rech at 402.472.5668. There will be a small charge to cover the cost of Ncard and credit card purchases.

We can continue to accept reservations until October 12th, however, we cannot guarantee inclusion in the program. 

Program ads can be purchased with or without dinner attendance using the same form. Ad prices are discounted with purchase of a table.

Raffle donations are also accepted.
