Jim Wand Hypnotist

The University Program Council is excited to bring back hypnotic sensation Dr. Jim Wand. He'll be in Lincoln for two shows at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18th, 2013 in the Nebraska East Union Great Plains Room. Admission is free for UNL students with valid NCard and $5 for faculty, staff and the public. Last year both shows sold out, so make sure to get there early to see UNL's favorite super-tan hypnotist!


Second Chance Cinema presents Argo

In Spring 2013 UPC Second Chance Cinema will be bigger and better than before, offering showings on both Wednesday and Thursday nights. We'll kick off the 2013 season with Argo on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 with showings at 4:30, 7:00 and 9:30 p.m. each night at the Ross. Admission is $1 for UNL students with valid NCard and is not open to the public. Starring Ben Affleck and Bryan Cranston, Argo is the story of the 1980 joint CIA-Canadian secret operation to extract six fugitive American diplomatic personnel out of revolutionary Iran.

UPC presents Heads vs. Feds: A Debate About Marijuana Legalization

You might be sick of Presidential debates, but this is a debate you won't want to miss. On February 7, 2013 UPC will present Heads vs. Feds: A Debate About Marijuana Legalization at 7:30 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Centennial Room. The debate features Steve Hager, former editor in chief of High Times Magazine, and Bob Stutman, former DEA special agent, battle it out over the legalization of marijuana. Admission for this event is free for UNL students with valid NCard, $5 for faculty, staff, and public.

David Garibaldi's Rhythm & Hue

David Garibaldi’s Rhythm and Hue – On February 20, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nebraska Centennial Room, enjoy great art, music and talent with UPC presents David Garibaldi’s Rhythm and Hue!  Admission for this event is free for UNL students with valid NCard, $5 for faculty, staff, and public.

Skyfall

UPC Presents Second Chance Cinema: Skyfall

On Thursday, February 28, 2013, the blockbuster hit “Skyfall” will be coming to The Ross with showings at 4:05, 7:00 and 9:55 p.m. Daniel Craig is back as Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007, and Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. Admission is $1 for UNL students with valid NCard. Event is not open to the public.

Cirque

UPC Presents Second Chance Cinema: Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away in 3D

Come enjoy the visually stunning Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away in 3D at The Ross on March 13 and 14  at 7:15, & 9:25. In the film a young woman is entranced by an Aerialist, whom she falls in love with and enters into a dreamlike world of Cirque du Soleil. They become separated and must travel through  different worlds held in tents to reunite with the other. This is not one you will want to miss! Admission is $1 for UNL students with valid NCard. Event is not open to the public.

Zach

“What Makes a Family” with Zach Wahls

On Thursday, March 28, 2013, UPC and the LGBTQA Resource Center will be co-sponsoring “What Makes a Family” with Zach Wahls at 7:30 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Auditorium. Zach Wahls is a 21-year-old student at Iowa University who will be speaking about LGBT equality, due to his personal experience of being raised by two mothers. He became a YouTube sensation when a video surfaced from his speech in the Iowa House of Representatives opposing House Joint Resolution 6 meant to end civil unions in Iowa. Admission for this event is free for UNL students with valid NCard, $5 for faculty, staff, and public.

Bully

UPC Presents “Bully”

On Wednesday, April 10, 2013, UPC presents “Bully” with special guest panelists at 7:30 p.m. at The Ross. Created by filmmaker Lee Hirsch, who also served as his own cinematographer, "Bully" is a project which took a personal look at the real-life experiences of five different children who suffered the effects of bullying. An educational panel and discussion will take place following the screening of the film. Admission for this event is free for UNL students with valid NCard, $5 for faculty, staff, and public.

UPC Presents Second Chance Cinema: Django Unchained

Wednesday, April 17, 2013, Quentin Tarantino's Oscar winning film, "Django Unchained," will be at The Ross with showings at 6:30 and 9:45 p.m.


Spring Concert: Grouplove

On Thursday, April 18, at 8:00 p.m., on the Nebraska Union Green Space, UPC and KFRX will be having the UNL Spring Concert featuring: Grouplove! Known for their hits "Tongue Tied" and "Colours," Grouplove is sure to put on a fun and high-energy performance. This event is free for all, so no one should miss it! The show will take place on the UNL East Campus Mall on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. Admission is open to all UNL students, faculty, staff, and the general public.

Fashion's Night Out

Fashion’s Night out will take place September 6, 2012 in the Nebraska Union Centennial Room. The event will run from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m and admission is free for all UNL students, faculty, staff and the Lincoln Community.
