Service-Learning: Volunteer

Why Should You Serve?

Because you can make an impact! You’ll see change in the lives of those you serve, in your community, and in yourself. You’ll gain new skills and meet new people while you give back to your community.

As President Barack Obama said on the campaign trail: “Your own story and the American story are not separate--they are shared. And they will both be enriched if we stand up together, and answer a new call to service to meet the challenges of our new century ...”

How Can I Serve?

It’s easy! You can sign up for a one-time Community Challenge, sponsored by Student Involvement, or you can fill particular need by working directly with a non-profit agency. You can also travel with other like-minded students and participate in an Alternative Service Break and work on issues that matter to you. Another great way to learn about volunteer opportunities is to check out the Volunteer Fair that is held each September and January.
