The RSO Book is a guide for Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) recognized through the office of the Association of Students of the University of Nebraska (ASUN). RSOs recognized by the University, but not necessarily through ASUN, may use the RSO Book as an additional resource.
Complex institutions, like the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL), establish policies and procedures that help guide and protect RSO members, advisors, and the activities they sponsor. Student Involvement Student Organizations staff, in cooperation with the RSO Oversight Committee, compiled and summarized relevant information in a user-friendly web format to ensure RSO compliance with the policies and procedures governing their organizations.
This document is not intended to serve as a complete statement of all University-wide policies and procedures. Individual departments may have additional regulations impacting RSOs. Student Involvement Student Organizations staff are available to provide further explanation and/or clarification as needed. We urge RSOs to utilize Student Involvement located on both City Campus (200 Nebraska Union) and East Campus (300 Nebraska East Union) as a resource whenever questions arise.
Please remember the purpose of the RSO Book is to help RSOs sponsor successful activities by informing officers, members and advisors about critical policies and procedures at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
