PANELS AND WORKSHOPS FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN LGBTQA ISSUES

Mission of OutSpeaking: Increase awareness and understanding of the LGBTQA community and LGBTQA issues by providing the UNL and Lincoln communities with educational workshops and panels.

Educational Panels
Personal perspectives on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Ally experiences are shared by students, parents, and/or faculty/staff members. Educational panels can be arranged for classes, residence hall floor, fraternity/sorority chapter, athletic team or student organization meetings. The goal of the panel is understanding; many students who have attended panels state that they were able to get common questions answered and found the panels to be a great way to break stereotypes and assumptions about LGBTQA issues.

Workshops and Presentations
"Creating a Safe Space" helps participants learn ways to create and provide safe spaces on campus for all individuals regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. Learning is interactive, relaxed and informal; participants are encouraged to engage new ideas without shame while being challenged to remove the barriers that limit the success of others.
