Annual History Month Dinner
The annual history month dinner is one of many programs hosted by the LGBTQA Resource Center at UNL. The first annual history month dinner was in 2003 and has grown to be a large celebration for both the campus and local community. Our 10th anniversary dinner had 344 guests gathered at The Cornhusker Hotel to mingle, eat and meet hear Sharon Groves, our keynote speaker from the Human Rights Campaign. This year marks the 11th annual dinner celebration for the UNL and Lincoln LGBTQA Community and we are bringing in Trans* Asian Spoken Word performance artist Kit Yan! In addition, we will have drag performances by C Styles, Kharizma Valentine and Lennyx Bowers-West! Stacey Waite will entertain us once again with her spoken word and Kit Yan will entertain and enlighten with his keynote.
This year’s dinner will take place at The Cornhusker Hotel in the Lancaster Ballroom (lower level) on October 17, 2013. There is a pre-dinner social sponsored by OUTLinc at 5:30pm, seating starts at 6:30pm (a great time to purchase tickets for our prize drawing!). The program begins at 7 pm. Please join us in October!
Individual tickets may be purchased in the Student Organization Financial Services Office (SOFS). The SOFS office is located in Nebrasaka Union 200. Please purchase tickets by October 8th, 2013.
UNL students can also request scholarship tickets to the dinner. Please contact the LGBTQA Resource Center with your request.
