Leadership Model

Our leadership programs are based on A Social Change Model of Leadership Development Guidebook, from the Higher Education Research Institute of the University of California, Los Angeles.

Goals

  1. To encourage greater self-knowledge and leadership competence in each student
  2. To affect positive social change

7 C's of Leadership Development for Social Change

  • Consciousness of self - being aware of the beliefs, values, attitudes and emotions that motivate one to take action
  • Congruence - thinking, feeling and behaving with consistency, genuineness, authenticity and honesty
  • Commitment - being motivated to serve and drive the collective effort
  • Collaboration - working with others in a common effort
  • Common Purpose - working with shared aims and values
  • Controversy with Civility - recognizing that differences in viewpoint are inevitable and must be openly shared with civility
  • Citizenship - responsibly connecting the individual and the community
