Welcome!

High-risk drinking among students has become the #1 problem among colleges and universities in America. Heavy or "binge" drinking by college students creates a variety of harms for students and campus communities alike.

Research in college alcohol abuse prevention has yielded good evidence that college campuses can successfully work together with the surrounding community to create an environment that supports low-risk drinking and abstinence. The Nebraska Collegiate Consortium is a group of community colleges, state colleges, and public universities across Nebraska that are committed to utilizing comprehensive environmental strategies as campus task forces that, in partnership with coalitions in the surrounding community, can reduce the harms of high-risk drinking among college students in the state.
